My Teenage Self 3
My 100 mark achievement
I might not pass for the first 50 readers in the world, but I should qualify for the 300 list.
I have a bond with books and words that cannot get broken even in my next world. It comes naturally.
I grew up reading books, all kinds of them. Novels, poems, journals, newspapers, adverts, comics and every other, even manuals. I used to always eat with a book open, eating without reading felt very unfulfilling as a child. I used to be called professor, though no nerdy glasses. I actually thought I would be a professor, wouldn't know why I'm not pushing. Oh maybe, becoming an academia doesn't look interesting and adventurous enough right now.
My mom caused this very interesting addiction. Hardly did she go out and not come back with a book, and I always had a deadline for myself, 1 week was it, no matter how big, and I'd be expecting another.
I started buying my novels from JSS1, and without consciously counting, I hit an 100 mark when I got to SS3. It was fulfilling, and I felt like I've achieved something tremendous, it looked big to me.
I was going to start a book club in my school when I found out I was novel machine for everybody in school. Someone talks about wanting a novel, and I'm referred to 'Go and meet Praise, she'd give you .' It was fun until it was never returned, then I stopped.
Well, now, I still buy books, but technology has helped, I have almost 100 books on my phone,( not just novels) if not more. I do miss the feel of a hard cover book in my hand, but, it's preferable and easy.... #smiles
Books are windows to a whole new world. Words and your imagination would make you get transported to places you might not get to physically.
Books are healthy until you don't mind what you feed on, and you get filled with trash. Treat your knowledge with understanding.
