Sibling Love

There's this love for a sibling, that you can never get out of, that makes them as perfect as you want them to be, even when you know they are not, you constantly slip into denial.

I have 2 legit siblings, and plenty others. I can practically walk on hot coals for them. As annoying as we paint them to be, they still have this special spot in one's life that you can't close, even as much as you might want to.

Thing is, at a point, it becomes dangerous, when your love for them closes your eyes to their wrongdoings, and you refuse to admit that your sibling has a lot of shortcomings.

For people like myself, I have this bond with them that makes me mentally pick a fight with anybody that hurts them, I mean anybody, especially our parent. It just doesn't sit well with me, most times I do not mind being punished for their sins.



It gets all wrong, when they take that love as an opportunity to do anything, knowing you've got their back.

Sometimes, you might need to close your eyes to that soft spot, and make them question your love for them by doing what is right, they'd understand and thank you later.

P.S - This post might look like its for older siblings, but even as a younger sibling, you might need to check your love for them if its not hitting the 'red zone'
